State Election Commission revoked MCC within MADC

Aizawl | June 18, 2025: State Election Commission issues the following order regarding by-election within MADC area.

Whereas, the State Election Commission, Mizoram has enforced Model Code of Conduct for observance by the political parties, candidates and persons holding high public offices for By-Election to 13 (Thirteen) Village Councils within Mara Autonomous District Council;

And Whereas, counting of the votes have been completed and results of the said elections have been declared by the Returning Officers concerned;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243K of the Constitution of India read with Rule 3 of the Mara Autonomous District Council (Election to Village Councils) Rules, 2014 the State Election Commission, Mizoram hereby revokes the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct within the Village Councils areas with immediate effect.
