Aizawl | May 6, 2020: The battle against Covid-19 has affected all sections of the society. Weaker sections have been affected badly by the lockdown. To help them during this testing time, the Centre has announced 1.70 lakh crore package under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
Beneficiaries are getting free ration and free domestic gas cylinders under the scheme. Labourers are getting work under MGNREGS.
Farmers are getting financial assistance under PM Kisan Scheme. Scores of beneficiaries have been benefitted from this package in Mizoram.
Lalfamawizual of Siachangkawn, Lawngtlai district received 30 kg rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. He thanked the government for this help. He said this benefit has been a big help to his family during this crisis period of lockdown.
Lalrodawngkima, a wage earner of New Eden, Mamit dist has recently got jobs under MGNREGA. He also thanked the state and central Government for providing this benefit during the lockdown
