Mizoram University felicitates Lalremsiami Hmar as Sports Ambassador

Aizawl | July 6, 2019: Mizoram University organised Sports Promotion Programme yesterday and felicitated Lalremsiami Hmar as the Sports Ambassador of Mizoram University in a programme organized at the University Auditorium. 

Prof. K.R.S Sambasiva Rao, Vice Chancellor, Mizoram University on hearing the story of Lalremsiami Hmar and the victory of the Indian Team, initiated the programme and felicitated the Sports Amabassador of Mizoram University, Lalremsiami Hmar. He addressed the gathering and praised Lalremsiami Hmar for her determination, strength in the midst of tragedy and for being such an incredible example for the Youth today.

In an emotional and heartwarming programme, Lalremsiami Hmar narrated her journey, her struggles, the pain of loosing her father and the training undertaken by her and her team mates leading to their victory in Japan. 

Prof. Lalnundanga, Registrar, Mizoram University chaired the programme. Other speakers included Shri C.Laltlanthanga, Secretary, eState Sports Council, Mizoram; Ms. Lalrampari, Chief Hockey Coach, Sports Department, Govt. of Mizoram; Ms. Zothankimi, President, Mizoram Womens Hockey Association. 

Dr Saugata Sarkar, Asst. Director of Physical Education, Mizoram University concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.
