LET TRUTH PREVAIL ATROCITIES COMMITTED BY THE BRUS UPON THEIR MAGNANIMOUS HOSTS IN MIZORAM

The following is a gist of unwarranted atrocities and crimes committed by Bru miscreants in Mizoram and surrounding areas. This list is by no means, exhaustive.

1. Mr Khuanglawma (personal manager of Mr Sainghaka, ex-Minister, Mizoram): Robbed of personal valuables and clubbed to death at Chhimluang in 1979

2. Mr Kaia: Murdered in 1979 at Lungpher hamlet. The incident was never disclosed. But the inhabitants abandoned their Lungpher hamlet after 3 years in 1982 for fear of disclosure of their terrible crime.

3. Mrs Lalrinpuii, 43 w/o Rohmingliana of Vaisam: Shot dead on the 25th of January, 1994 on a deserted road near Kanchanpur

4. Mr Ronghinglova s/o Mr Thangvela of Zawlpui: Found dead on the Langkaih river, 1994

5. Lalzawmliana of Tuikual-S Aizawl, Game Watcher, Env &Forest Dept.: Shot dead on 21st October, 1997 near Persang village

6. Mr Laldawngliana s/o Mr Sanga of Zawlnuam Thuampui: Found murdered in 1998, the body was found wrapped in a sack cloth in the Langkaih river

7. Mr Lianzuala of Luimawi: Believed to have been murdered in 2000 at the Mizoram-Tripura border. The body was never recovered.

8. Mr Rosiamkima s/o Mr Rokunga (L) of Zawlnuam Vengpui: Murdered in 2003. Corpse was later recovered from Langkaih river.

9. Mr Hrangthanzama s/o Rodaia (L) of Zawlnuam Vengpui: Found murdered in 2004; body recovered from Langkaih river.

10. 30th June, 2000: Seven Mizoram Armed Police (MAP) personnel on patrol were killed in an ambush at Mauzam village.

11. Mr Lalramchhana of Jampui Hills: He was murdered by Bru miscreants in May 2009.

12. Murder of a couple near Kolasib: The couple were brutally murdered and robbed of all their earnings they had just made from NREGS under BDO, Thingdawl. The husband was Bru, and hid wife was a Mizo.

13. Lalramchhana 29 s/o Rokunga: Found dead at Vanghmun RD Block jurisdiction.

14. Zoramchhana, Kawrthah: He was attacked in 2005 at Vaiphei. Later, he succumbed to his injuries inflicted by a Bru mob and died at Kawrthah hospital.

15. Zarzokima 17 s/o Lalngilneia of Bungthuam: He was shot while he was travelling on the 13th November, 2009. He died on the spot.

16. Mr Lalchhanhima, JE (PHE) & Lalzawmliana, MR(PHE): They were kidnapped by Bru underground miscreants near Saithah while travelling in a Mizoram State Transport bus. The other passengers were robbed of their personal belongings.

17. Mr Lalfamkima, Maxicab Driver of Maubawk, Aizawl: He was kidnapped on 1st April, 2003 while travelling on the road between Khantlang and Tuipuibari.

18. Mr Sangliana: Kidnapped on 31st April, 2004.

19. Mr Zoramsanga (20) s/o Mr C. Lalbeiseia of Tuirum & Mr Taram Jeet Singh (from Chandigarh): These men were kidnapped from their workplace. They were employees of Teirei Mini Hydel Project.

20. Mr Lalrinzuala of Kanhmun: Kidnapped on 29th March 2005.

21. Mr Zodinthara & his co-labourers of Kanhmun: These labourers were intimidated and robbed of personal belongings on 7th May, 2005.

22. Mr Lalsawma of Kanhmun: He was intimidated while working alone in his jhum on March 2005. His personal belongings were forcibly taken by the miscreants.

23. Mr Lalhruaitluanga & Mrs Kaphmingthangi of Kanhmun: They were intimidated and robed of their belongings while travelling by foot.

24. Mr Lalramchhana & Mr Lalnuntluanga of Kanhmun: They were severely beaten and suffered serious injuries on January 1999.

25. Mr Lalramchhana & Mr Lalmuanpuia of Kanhmun: They were mobbed and beaten on December, 1998.

26. Ms Lalzikpuii (25) & Ms Zairemi (25) of Kanhmun: These two ladies were accosted and beaten while carrying vegetables to sell on the road between Rengdil and Zamuang village on January 1998. They were pushed down the roadside with grave injuries.

27. Mr Bualhmingthanga s/o Mr Taihnuna of Bungthuam: He was beaten and intimidated by some thugs who were brandishing guns in 2004.

28. Mr Hrangkapthanga s/o Mr Rohmingliana of Bungthuam: He was mobbed and severely beaten in 2009.

29. Mr Lalthangvunga s/o Mr J. Lalrinsanga: Severely beaten in 2008.

30. Mr Thangthuamliana s/o Mr Ngurliandawla: Severly beaten in 2009.

31. Mr Elvis Lalruatsanga s/o Mr Chuauthankhuma & Mr Lalnundika s/o Mr Thangchhuahkima of Bungthuam: He was falsely accused of committing rape and was severely beaten. He was then forced to be reprimanded by the Dharmanagar police.

32. Mr Lalenkawla s/o Mr V.L. Nghaka: Severely beaten in 2009.

33. Mass eviction: Inhabitants of Sakhan hillrange villages were forced to leave their homes by Bru miscreants in 1998. The villagers have not dared to return to their homes till today. No rehab measures taken or compensatory initiatives provided for these unfortunate victims till date.

34. Mr Zohmingsanga (40) s/o Mr K. Thangkima & Mr K. Lalramhluna (38) s/o Mr K. Lalchhuanawma: These two men are sportsmen and were on their way to participate in a tournament on a fateful day in October, 2000. They were accosted and mercilessly beaten on their way to Tripura at Kheda by enraged Bru settlers who were believed to come from Tumpanglui.

35. Mr Saithankima s/o Mr M. Sanga (L) & Mr Thankima s/o Mr Teverha of Kawrtethawveng: The two men were accosted and beaten at Tlaivar village by Bru miscreants while they were on their way to collect cattle from West Bunghmun on December 2003.

36. Mr Hrangthankima (50) s/o Mr Nghilhlova of Kawrtethawveng: He was beaten at Tlaivar village while on a visit in January 2004.

37. Mr Lalzawmliana s/o Mr K. Thankima: He was severely beaten by Brus at Damdiai village in 2005.

38. Mr K. Lalchhuanawma & Mr Lalrintluanga: The two were involved in a fist-fight with some Bru counterpart in 2005. They were subjected to be sent to a Tripuri jail.

39. Mr Zoramthanzauva of Kawrthah: He was severely beaten in 2005 at Puiphir village.

40. Mr Isaak Singson h/o Lily Ngente of Kawrthah: An attempt was made to have him shot dead in 2006.

41. Mr Lalrinhlua Damveng, Kawrthah: In 2007, he was intimidated and mobbed while he was toiling in his jhum. He suffered injuries that resulted in puncture of intestines and had to spend a long time in Aizawl Civil Hospital to recuperate.

42. Mr Laldina: He was accosted and beaten at Kheda village while escorting his cattle in May 2008. The perpetrators forcibly took away whatever money he had.

43. Mr Zaithanpuia (30): He was clubbed on 18th June, 2009 at Satapa village. He was a skilled labourer and was working on a SSA school building while this incidence happened.

44. Mr Eddy Zosangliana Colney: He was beaten unconscious with bricks on a fateful day in February, 2012.

45. Mr Nelson Vanlalruatkima, Mr Lalrinmawia, Mr Vanlalfaka Reang, Mr Lalsangmawia & Mr Lalliansanga: These five men were kidnapped from their place of posting on 19.02.2013 by so-called ‘Western Development Liberation Front of Mizoram.’ These men were employees of Environment & Forest Department, Govt. of Mizoram.
