Election officials said scrutiny of nominations papers for 39 constituencies was completed yesterday. Scrutiny for Champhai North constituency, which was held up yesterday due to technical reasons, will be done today.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is tomorrow. The state is going to the polls on the 28th of this month. AIR correspondent reports that campaigning by major parties is going at its peak across the state. While giving promises to woo voters, major parties are also undermining each other on various issues.
Former Chief Minister and MNF President Zoramthanga yesterday said that his party will secure absolute majority and form Government.
Meanwhile, Congress has withdrawn its support to the Chakma Autonomous District Council body, headed by BJP.
