BORDER SECURITY FORCE ORGANISE CLEANLINESS DRIVE


Aizawl | September 26, 2018: The personnel of 90 Bn BSF had organized a cleanliness campaign in Village Rajivnagar of Mamit District on September 25. They cleaned up the school premises and local market of village Rajivnagar. The said campaign was part of Central Government’s “SWACCHATA PAKHWADA” programme and was organized under the guidance of Sh. Pankaj Kumar, Commandant 90 Bn BSF.
The citizens of Rajivnagar also took part in this programme and cleaned up village areas. Before introducing the cleaning campaign, Sh. Sunil Kadam, Coy Commander of BOP Rajivnagar addressed the citizens and school children. He appealed everyone to take part into this cleanliness drive. He said, “Cleanliness and personal hygiene are basic tenets of healthy life. If you want to avoid diseases and illness, clean your house, surroundings and village. Every family shall build toilet, so that water is not contaminated. Open defecation is the source of many diseases like diarrhea and jaundice”.

The cleanliness drive taken by the Border Security Force has been appreciated by the locals. The village council President Sh. Nirmal kanti Chakma was also present at programme and participated actively. The primary school teacher Sh. Monu Mohan said, “We are very happy that BSF personnel have come to our village and are guiding us with an example. We teachers will keep creating awareness among children regarding personal hygiene. The BSF carries out such programmes in our village from time to time”.
