KATHMANDU | April 8, 2026: Nepal Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, has raised concerns regarding the presence of funds belonging to Nepali nationals in Swiss banks.

The issue was highlighted during a meeting with the Swiss Ambassador to Nepal, held earlier today.

Home Minister Gurung emphasized the need to investigate whether money acquired through illegal means by Nepali citizens is being stored in Swiss financial institutions.

He urged the ambassador to extend cooperation in facilitating such inquiries, signaling Nepal’s intent to ensure transparency and accountability in tracking illicit financial flows.

The Swiss Ambassador, in turn, discussed matters related to bilateral cooperation on immigration issues, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the two governments in managing cross-border movement and related administrative matters.
