MZU's PC Lalvenhimi Wins Dr. Anamika Ray SHARE Communication Research Award 2025

Sept 15, 2025: In a significant achievement, PC Lalvenhimi, a research student of the Department of Mass Communication at Mizoram University, has been awarded the Dr. Anamika Ray SHARE (Science, Health, Agriculture, Risk, and Environment) Communication Research Award 2025. Her research study, "Online Environmental Activism in Mizoram (With Special Reference to Save the Riparian Movement)," has been recognized for its outstanding contribution to the field of communication.

According to sources, Lalvenhimi's study explored the role of social media in promoting environmental awareness and community involvement in Mizoram. The research highlighted the effectiveness of short-form content, particularly Instagram Reels, in engaging audiences and inspiring action.

The study, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication, Mizoram University, used a mixed-methods approach to examine the strategic use of social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and YouTube in environmental activism.
