Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje visits Khawzawl district

Khawzawl | May 7, 2025: Union Minister of State for MSME and Labour & Employment Shobha Karandlaje visited Khawzawl today, interacting with officials of departments in Khawzawl district and visiting various places of interest at Khawzawl and Chawngtlai.

Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje arrived by helicopter at Mualvawm Helipad at 10 a.m where she was received by Khawzawl DC Mr. K. Vanlalthiana and other officials. The Union Minister proceeded to DC Auditorium at the DC's Office where she interacted with the heads of offices in Khawzawl District. The Union Minister was felicitated by Khawzawl DC who expressed his sincere gratitude for her visit to the humble district of Khawzawl and his hope that the Minister has a pleasant and successful visit. SDO (Sadar) Suvigya S. Chandra gave a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the various successes of different departments within Khawzawl district. The Union Minister had a fruitful discussion with the various heads of offices, as they discussed and deliberated on various issues related to schemes like PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, MGNREGA, PM KISAN, Jal Jeevan Mission etc. The Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje thanked the district officials for their gracious and warm welcome, and said that it is imperative that each department does their concerned work with commitment and fervour so that the people of Khawzawl district may live better lives and have a higher standard of living. The Union Minister also urged officials to abstain from corruption, nepotism, favouritism and other malpractices.

After the interaction, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje visited Govt. Little Flower School at Khawzawl Vengthar, where she interacted with the students and teachers, and a house constructed under PMAY-G where she interacted with the beneficiaries. The Union Minister then proceeded to Chawngtlai village where she visited Chawngtlai Rurban Centre constructed under MzSRLM, inspecting the various facilities present, a passion fruit processing unit and Chawngtlai Anganwadi, where she was received by the children with a lovely song. After the interactions, the Union Minister returned back to Khawzawl and left for Aizawl at 1:30 p.m from Mualvawm Helipad.

Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje was accompanied by officials from Ministry of MSME, KVIC and Commerce & Industry.
