Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) Perhkhuang 2021

Aizawl | October 29, 2021: Perhkhuang 2021 is an initiative by Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC),   Government of Mizoram. The present Chairman of Mizoram Youth Commisson is Dr. Vanlaltanpuia, MLA.


Perhkhuang 2021 is a capacity building program to aid Mizo artistes, venues, sound rentals, videographers, event managers, transportations, musicians, senior singers, food ventures etc. whose business being associated to music has been hit hard due to the pandemic and while promoting upcoming young excelling singers to collaborate and receive mentorship and music business guidance with established musicians and related professionals from across the state, country and abroad so as to achieve professional skill development and cross cultural excellence in the related field.


The event which spanned over three months across all districts of the state started with an entry by more than two thousand (2000) contestants/singers out of which four hundred and fifty three (453) contestants/singers were approved to partake to seven (7) levels of audition rounds in Hindi, English & Mizo language.

The organizing committee consisted of veteran musicians & esteemed judges including Victor Da Scavenger (Magdalane), Fiona (The Chosen), Feli (Dr. Luke), Isak Malsawmtluanga, Opa (Tribal Power) with guest Judge Appearance by Dr.Vari Varte , Rosy K Remsangpuii managed by Zomuana Zahau (Euphony Cart/Secretary Perhkhuang ) & Donny Lalruatsanga (MCS, Chairman, Perhkhuang) . The final event was also hosted/comperes by Angelina Paul (Zonet) & Mark V Vanlalrema (English Lecturer, Govt. Siaha College).


The finals (23rd October, 2021) at Dawrpui Multipurpose Hall, Aizawl, Mizoram is streamed, broadcasted and live on LPS, Zonet & YouTube of Mizoram Youth Commission Channel.

The selected five (5) most excelling artistes are:-
1. R. Lalhruaitluanga ( Bawiha), Vengsang, Champhai 
2. Lalhmangaihzuali ( Nunui), Kulikawn Aizawl
3. Priskil Lalhmingsangi, Thingdawl Hmar Veng
4. Lalhriatrengi (Lilac), Bawngkawn Aizawl
5. Daniel Lalawmpuia, Mission Veng, Aizawl

The above mentioned names are selected and declared as winners. They each will be guided to ventures where they shall be nourished and receive World class mentorship, guidance, gigs attainments, know how’s from experts & veterans who will share them their valuable experience, expertise and resources with the assistance of visiting associates and business experts who will connect them to wider networks so as to make them attain high degree of accomplishments.


North East Wave (NEW) which is a partner private limited music business firm of Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) under the director of Hs Lalruatliana (Booma) Guitarist/Founder Member at Boomarang/Sound from the hills who is World Artistes of the Year Nominee at Josie Music Awards 2021, Tennessee, USA and an empaneled Artist at ICCR, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and his team will take care of operations to the winning singers and to promote such other excelling Mizo personnel’s  in the field of fine music, literature, culture, arts, sports and related academic pursuits.













       Lists of distinguished delegates and expected synergism: 
Guest of honor, Dr. Munish Singh, Regional Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) who had invited the winners to perform at the prestigious Shillong’s Cherry Blossom International Music Festival and other future ICCR events National and International.

Advisor to the Nagaland Chief Minister and Vice President of the Athletics Federation of India,  Abu Metha and his  delegation which consisted of Advisor, Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), Theja Meru; President, Rattle & Hum Foundation (RHF), Neingulie Nakhro; and musician and creative producer, TaFMA, Imcha Imchen. Their visit began with the delegation visiting Laldenga Memorial where they paid homage and laid floral tributes at the memorial of Mizoram’s first Chief Minister and the leader of the Mizo movement. The team called on the Mizoram CM, Zoramthanga at his residence. Metha highlighted some of the programs and initiatives of the Nagaland Government, especially in the areas of youth affairs. He invited Mizoram participants to the forthcoming international events which are going to be hosted in Nagaland like the Asia Music Summit, Hornbill Music Festival, the South Asian Cross Country Championships and the Grand Finale of the Indian National Rally Championships. He also appreciated the role and contributions of Zoramthanga in the Naga peace process and the CM observed that all sections are hoping for a peaceful and successful resolution of the peace talks. He also assured that all efforts would be made to train the talents of young Mizos and Nagas in joint initiatives in order to propel them towards the highest international levels.Advisor TaFMA, Theja Meru assured support and solidarity to the MYC through partnerships and collaborations between the two Governments. President of the RHF, Neingulie Nakhro, highlighted a unique intellectual property of Nagaland called the Handshake Concert. He informed that this event has taken hundreds of musicians and artists to several international platform and a dozen countries in the past decade. He assured the Government of Mizoram that artist and musicians from Mizoram will be given opportunities to perform at the RHF’s upcoming events, which are all organized in partnership with the Indian Embassies in different countries. Metha also held a meeting with the Mizoram Athletic Association and representatives of the Mizoram Olympic Association. Metha informed that the AFI is keen to promote athletics in the North East and its vision will begin by hosting the South Asian Cross Country Championships in Nagaland under the aegis of the South Asian Athletics Federation. The AFI will also conduct special training and capacity building for Technical Officials and Coaches for Mizoram and other Northeastern States.Abu Metha, who is Chairman of the Federation of Adventure & Motor Sports Associations of North East, had a meeting with the Mizoram Motorsports Association (MIMSA) and discussed strategies to promote motor and adventure sports in the Northeast alongside tourism and the service industry. He invited MIMSA to the grand finale of the Indian National Rally Championships which will be held in Nagaland in 2022.The visit ended with an interactive session with musicians, event managers, music industry representatives from the mainland and representatives of the Indian Centre for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and young entrepreneurs of Mizoram.
Mutual understanding (MOU) with private firms was also signed with Centre of Creative Excellence (Mumbai) represented by Shubho Shekhar Bhatacharjee & Sucheta Bhatacharjee to propel the youths of Mizoram to engage in the World of Indian Classical Music and Bollywood. MusiConnect Asia represented by Kaushik Dutta to connect Mizoram with Asia with his connections and expertise. 
RockaRolla represented by event management veteran in Guwahati David Koch and Inreco represented by Saurav Khatua were being formulated with talks for further developments. 
Ziro Festival of Music Arunachal Pradesh represented by Anup Kutty (Co-Founder/Creative Producer), Anurag Tagat (Assistant Editor) Rolling Stone Magazine, Ronnie Lahari (Film Producer), Shelraj Patel (Senior Supervising Producer at Viacom 18),Mama Tochhawng (Escape Music Festival), Trigam Mukherjee (Media Office Member of Parliament Rajeev Chandrasekhar) also sent a message to assure that they will extend all possible support for the endeavor to support and promote North East Wave (NEW) and Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) future initiatives.
