Twelve Women Candidates In coming Mizoram polls

Aizawl | November  4, 2018: The Political Parties of Mizoram has nominated twelve women candidates for the upcoming Mizoram Assembly election. The most women candidate in Mizoram election history.

Mizoram has 40 MLA seats in the Assembly, if all the Women candidate wins the polls, there will be 12 women MLA in the new Government.

Bhrartiya Janata party has the most women candidates, Judy Zohminglianin in Tuivawl assembly constituency, C Lalnunziri in Aizawl North II, T Lalmalsawmi in Aizawl East II, Lalremsangi Fanai in Aizawl South III, Laldingngheti in Lengteng assembly constituency, and Lalduhpuii in Tuichang assembly constituency.

Zoram Thar also has three women candidates Lalruatfeli Hlawndo in Aizawl North I and Tuikum assembly constituency, Lalhrilzeli Hlawndo in Aizawl North II and Lengteng assembly constituency, and Lalzenghaki in Hachhek assembly constituency.

Zoram people Movement (ZPM)  has F Lalrintluangi in Dampa assembly constituency and Lalrinpui in Lunglei East.

The Mizoram Pradesh Congress has Vanlalawmpuii Chawngthu in Hrangtuzo assembly constituency.

Mizo National Front party do not have Women candidate in the coming election.



In a statement, Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP – Mizo Women Organisation) requested parties to keep women candidate as much as posiible, and made appealed to all women to vote for women candidate despite of parties.
