Aizawl | October 2, 2018: Biate town is declared as cleanest town of Mizoram 2018 at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl on October 2.
Mizoram Fianance minsiter Lalsawta delcared the result of 'Mizoram Khawpui Fai inelna 2018' (Cleanliness Competiton in Urban Mizoram 2018) on the occasion.
The competition is organised by Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Department (UD&PA).
Inauguration of Cleanliness Week 2018 & Prize Distribution of Cleanliest Town 2018 was
held at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl on October 2 and organised by Urban Development
& Poverty Alleviation Department(UD&PA).Finance minister Lalsawta
graced the programme as chief guest. Finance minister launched a cleanliness
week and distributed prize of cleanest town 2018. In category 1, district
headquarters; Lunglei got first prize, Serchhip got second and third by Mamit.
In category II, (others town) Bate got first in Cat 2 and over all , Zawlnuam is second and Lengpui
got third in Cleanest town 2018. First, Second and third prize get a cash prize
of Rs 1,00,000/-, Rs 70,000/- and Rs 50,000 respectively in both category.
Biate is a census town in Serchhip district in the state of Mizoram, India.
As of 2011 India census, Biate had a population of 2277. Males constitute 49.80% of the population and females 50.20%. Biate has an average literacy rate of 98.18%, higher than the national average of 74.04%; with male literacy of 97.92% and female literacy of 98.43%. 10.94% of the population is under 6 years of age.
