MCON celebrates 31st Graduation Day




Aizawl |  September 25, 2018: Mizoram College of Nursing (MCON) celebrated 31st graduation & lamp lighting ceremony at M Hall, MCON, Falkawn on September 25. 

Mizoram University vice chancellor Prof KRS Sambasiva Rao graced the august celebration as chief guest. He wished the fresh and old students a sweet success in their pursuance of noble profession. 
He said nursing is a noble profession and directly a service to mankind and humanity.
He encouraged B Sc graduates to have knowledge in other studies that can help them in their service. He also promised all possible help in his capacity.
                        

MCON principal Lalchhanhimi also delivered a speech and gave a report on the occasion. She said the institution has produced 286 nursing graduates. She thanked all the students, and said they are the reason for the existence of Mizoram College of Nursing(MCON).

MCON was established in the year 1980 as Nursing School, of Civil Hospital Aizawl and upgraded to Mizoram College of Nursing (MCON) in 2005.
The institution is recognised by Indian Nursing Council, Mizoram Nursing Council and has permanent affiliation under Mizoram University (MZU).
Currently, the MCON has 16 teaching staffs and 31 non-teaching staffs and is headed by the acting principal Lalchhanhimi, as the college does not have permanent principal.
 

Thirty two students graduated this year, out of them nine students were placed in MZU B.Sc Top 10. Two students secured distinction and 30 students secured first division. MCON’s student Vanlalnunziri daughter of Biakchungnunga is a gold medalist in B Sc result 2018 declared by MZU.
