HOW TO REACH AIZAWL | MIZORAM



Aizawl is the capital of the state of Mizoram and the largest city within the boundaries of this state. The beautiful city has a number of interesting places to visit. Some of the main Aizawl attractions which grab the attention of large numbers of visitors are Mizoram State Museum, Durtlang Hills, Solomon Temple, Khuangchera Puk and Hmuifang. These places experience the largest numbers of visitors and are seen as the major attractions of the city. Bara Bazar is the main shopping spot of Aizawl. Tourists are often seen seen shopping from here. One more interesting place worth visiting in Aizawl is the Baktawng village.

Road Distances from Aizawl
NH-54 connects Aizawl with the rest of the country through Silchar. Buses and taxis are available from Silchar to Aizawl (6-8 hrs). Night services are also available. Aizawl is also accessible by road from Shillong and Guwahati.

Domestic Travellers
Inner Line Pass is required for entry into Mizoram for persons other than Government employees and has to be taken from Liaison Officer, Government of Mizoram, For further information please contact Mizoram House at Silchar, Shillong, Guwahati, Kolkata or New Delhi. Their addresses are given below. Inner Line Permit can also be obtained on arrival at Lengpui Airport.
Foreign Tourists
For a group of 4 or more persons, Restricted Area Permit (PAP) can be obtained from the Government of Mizoram through the Liaison Officers at New Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati. For less than 4 persons, RAP has to be obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
