Health Minister launches Anemia Mukt Bharat Strategy for Mizoram State

Aizawl | March 30, 2021: "Anemia Mukt Bharat Strategy for Mizoram State" with an objective to reduce prevalence of anemia among 6 target groups in the State was formally launched by Dr. R. Lalthangliana, Minister for Health & Family Welfare department today at Taxation Deparment Auditorium, MINECO.

Complying with the targets of POSHAN Abhiyaan and National Nutrition Strategy set by NITI Aayog, the Anemia Mukt Bharat strategy has been designed to reduce prevalence of anemia among 6 target groups - Children (6–59 months), Adolescent boys and girls (15–19 years), Women of reproductive age (15-49), Pregnant women and Lactating Women. Anemia Mukt Bharat will use a 6x6x6 strategy to combat anemia (6 beneficiaries x 6 interventions x 6 institutional mechanisms). It will be implemented in all villages in blocks of the districts through existing delivery platforms as envisaged in the National Iron Plus Initiative (NIPI) and Weekly Iron Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFS) programme.
