NOTES
Note 1 The order in this Warrant of Precedence is meant only for national and state ceremonial functions and shall have no application in the day-to-day business of the Government.

Note 2 Persons in this Warrant of Precedence will take rank in order of the no. of Article and as per entry under the same Article. The order in which the posts are mentioned in one article shall not, however, be the basis for determining seniority inter-se.

Note 3 Cabinet Ministers of the Union, when invited to official functions held within the State, will take precedence after the Chief minister of Mizoram

Note 4 The rank / status of a dignitary / an official as spelt out in the appointment letter shall serve as a criterion for the purpose of entry in to Article 5 and Article 6 regarding ‘dignitaries having status equivalent to a Cabinet Minister’ and ‘dignitaries having status equivalent to a Minister of State’ respectively,

Note 5 The article in which the State Chief Information Commissioner is placed shall be applicable only to the present incumbent. Future SCIC’s will be accorded precedence at Article 9.

Note 6 Among the members of Mizoram Legislative Assembly, order of precedence shall be as follows –
a. Leaders of parties
b. Ex-Chief Minister
c. Ex-Speaker
d. Chairman/Vice Chairman of various statutory Boards /
Corporations of Government undertaking
e. Ex-Ministers
f. Other members will take precedence in alphabetical order

Note 7 Elected representatives of the people viz. CEM, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Executive Members of Autonomous District Councils, although not included in the warrant, will, when invited to state and ceremonial functions, take precedence with persons at Article 12.

Note 8 Elected representatives would rank above the non-elected representatives in any same article.

Note 9 Non-elected and non-official Chairmen/Vice Chairmen of Boards/Corporation of state government undertaking, when invited to such functions, shall be assigned precedence after persons at Article 12 unless status of the incumbent is specifically mentioned in the notifications issued by the government.

Note 10 Managing Directors of PSU/Boards will rank as per their substantive ranks in the Government.

Note 11 Except in the case of ladies who hold a post mentioned in the Warrant of Precedence, all other ladies will take their places along with their husbands in their respective Warrant of Precedence. Similarly, accompanying husbands of the lady officers should also take their places with their wives in their respective Warrant of Precedence.

Note 12 Any dignitary/official who is not mentioned in this warrant will take his/her place as per the notification determining the rank/status of such person at the time of his/her appointment or as determined by General Administration Department (Protocol & Hospitality Wing).
