India President, Vice President, PM and other dignitaries greet people of Mizoram on Statehood Day

Aizawl | Feb 20, 2020: India President Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several others dignitaries have extended their greetings to people of Mizoram on Statehood Day.

President Shri Ram Nath Kovind in a tweet said “Greetings to the people of Mizoram on statehood day. The entire nation admires the state and its people for their values and vibrant culture. May the state scale new heights of progress in the coming years”.

Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu in his tweet said “I convey my warm greetings to the people of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh on their Statehood Day. People from these two beautiful hill states have made immense contribution to India's growth and development”. Arunachal Pradesh is also celebrating its Statehood Day today with Mizoram.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter “On the occasion of their Statehood Day, greetings to the wonderful people of Mizoram. We are proud of the rich culture of this state. Those belonging to Mizoram have excelled in many spheres and contributed to India’s growth. Praying for Mizoram’s development in the coming years”.

Union Home Affairs Minister Shri Amit Shah has also greeted Mizos on this occasion. In a tweet, he said “Extend my warm wishes to the brothers and sisters of Mizoram on their Statehood day. The state of Mizoram is well known for its vibrant culture and hospitable nature. I pray for the growth and all-round developmental of the state”. Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Information and Broadcasting and Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises wrote in a tweet “Greetings to the people of Mizoram on their statehood Day. Mizoram is a beautiful north eastern state. Mizoram is walking a path of progress and we continue to do so”.

 Mizoram Chief Minister Shri Zoramthanga in a tweet said “On this day on 20th February 1987 Mizoram became the 23rd state of India, with the Fifty-Third Amendment of the Indian Constitution, 1986. Since then, it has risen to be an epitome of Peace, Love and Energy. Happy State Day 2020 to the people of Mizoram!”.

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri Sadananda Gowda, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri G Kishan Reddy, Arunachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Shri Prema Khandu, Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, Nagaland’s Chief Minister Shri Neiphiu Rio and several other dignitaries have congratulated people of Mizoram on this occasion.
